Lexington's Mary Todd Lincoln House To Host Area Schoolkids On Presidents' Day

Mary Todd Lincoln House

Just because Monday is Presidents’ Day doesn’t mean kids in Fayette County have to take a break from learning local history.  Lexington’s Mary Todd Lincoln House is opening its doors for a special holiday program.

The event will run from 10am to 1pm, with this year’s games and activities focusing on Mrs. Lincoln and the role of the First Lady. Activities take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Attendees are also invited to take their photos with a Mrs. Lincoln interpreter at the event.

Mrs. Lincoln, depicted in pink, served as hostess at White House events. This role and others of the First Lady will be explored at the Presidents’ Day Family Event at the Mary Todd Lincoln House.

The annual event is designed for children ages 5-10 but is free to all students in grades K-12.  Children under 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Adult admission is $10. The Mary Todd Lincoln House is located at 578 West Main Street in downtown Lexington. Free parking is located directly behind the house. For further information, call 859-233-9999 or visit www.mlthouse.org.
