Lexington Sergeant Accused Of Stalking

Lexington Police Department

A Sergeant with the Lexington Police Department since 2007 has been reassigned after a woman he was allegedly dating files a restraining order against him.

The woman claims she was in a long-term sexual relationship with Sergeant Jervis Middleton and broke it off when she found out he was married. She believes he has been following her and even got on the roof of her home and spied on her. The emergency order of protection, which was granted states the woman was in “fear for the temporary safety of myself and my son.” The day after the order was filed, the Lexington Police Department sent out a press release saying Middleton was being reassigned from his position as a department spokesman. Fayette County Family Court Judge Lucinda Masterton ordered all of Middleton’s firearms to be confiscated “in order to assist in eliminating future acts of domestic violence and abuse, dating violence and abuse, stalking, or sexual assault.” Middleton is scheduled to be in court this Thursday.
