Gov. Beshear Yet To Rule Out Former Gubernatorial Challenger For Judicial Seat
By Josh James
FRANKFORT, Ky. - Governor Steve Beshear has not ruled out longtime political opponent Senate President David Williams for an open judicial seat in Williams’ district.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Beshear told reporters at a Capitol news conference it’s too early to name his choice for the open circuit judge seat for Cumberland, Clinton, and Monroe counties and he’s waiting for recommendations from a nominating commission.
Williams has not signaled whether he would be interested in serving in the post, which was held by Eddie Lovelace, who passed away last week after reportedly suffering a stroke.
