Concert Stub, Keeneland Betting Slip Among Items Unearthed From UK Time Capsule

Risking a potential Geraldo and Al Capone moment, the University of Kentucky opened up a time capsule from the old Sarah Bennett Holmes Residence Hall and streamed the big reveal over facebook live.

What do a tube of lipstick, a teabag, a Louis Armstrong concert ticket and a betting slip from Keeneland have in common?  They were among several items found inside a time capsule recovered from the old Sarah Bennett Holmes Women's Residence Hall on the UK campus.

That building, which was dedicated in May of 1958, has been torn down to make way for new university housing.

Kody Kiser of UK Public Relations and Deirdre Scaggs, Associate Dean of the Special Collections Research Center did the big reveal Monday morning and streamed it over faceback live.
