Prisoners Won't Take Company's Military Contract

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Workers at a Campbellsville factory that makes T-shirts for U.S. soldiers won't have to fear losing their jobs to prisoners.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said he has received notification that Federal Prison Industries won't bid on the military contract now held by Campbellsville Apparel.

McConnell called that  "another great victory'' for Kentucky workers.

Louisville Wins Second Big East Championship

NEW YORK .  Louisville beat an old foe to win a second Big East championship.  Chris Smith, with his brother who plays for the New York Knicks in the stands, scored 15 points and the Cardinals withstood a closing run by Cincinnati for a 50-44 victory Saturday night that sends the Cardinals to the NCAA tournament for the sixth straight year.
