WUKY's licensee (University
of Kentucky) continues to offer a wide array of free professional development
workshops to all staff. These range from "The Basics of Leadership"
to "Mediation Skills" to "Time Management". WUKY staff were
notified of these opportunities quarterly and encouraged to attend as
appropriate. New courses are offered each semester, and thus staff members
have many opportunities to hone or improve their skills in a variety of
areas. WUKY’s Program Director and Accountant Principal concluded their
year-long Essential Leader program during the reporting period.

The University of Kentucky
makes available to all WUKY staff ongoing training courses designed to foster
equal opportunity and diversity. Courses taught include "Basics of Diversity",
"Gender Styles in Communication", "Gender Styles in
Leadership", and "Preventing Sexual Harassment". Some of these
training opportunities are available on-line as well as through traditional
classroom training. As noted above WUKY’s Program Director and Accountant
Principal concluded their year-long Essential Leader program during the
reporting period. In addition the Program Director, on the basis of her
participation in the above, was one of a small group of individuals on campus
who were selected to participate in UK’s Humanity Academy, an on-going
diversity training initiative.
